California Production Coalition Heralds First Projects Selected for Improved CA Film and TV Tax Credit Program

August 27, 2025 (LOS ANGELES) – The California Film Commission unveiled 22 television series today as the first projects to take part in the expanded and enhanced California Film and TV Tax Credit 4.0 Program. The California Production Coalition issued the following statement:

“When California competes for film and television production, our creative workforce thrives. Californians know firsthand that more film and television production translates into more jobs, more growth, and more investment in their communities. Today’s announcement is a step towards expanding opportunities for workers and businesses statewide while bringing great stories to audiences everywhere.”

"Today's overwhelming votes send a clear message from lawmakers: California is committed to saving the motion picture industry. We thank Senator Allen, Assemblymembers Zbur, Bryan and the entire Legislature. We urge the Legislature and the Governor to join these critical program improvements with the Governor’s  proposed funding of $750 million to bring high-quality union jobs back to the state ."
